Quinn Satterfield Inc. donated a home to upstate charity Homes of Hope. The home, located at 701 Birnie Street represents the 250th affordably priced home that has been provided to the community by Homes of Hope.
Mayor Pro Tem Lillian Brock Flemming, along with other civic and community leaders, as well as residents of the West Greenville Community were all on hand to dedicate the home and to discuss the ongoing revitalization of the West Greenville community. A barbeque lunch immediately followed the dedication.
Families who have benefited from the affordable housing provided by Homes of Hope were also be on hand to talk about the organization and how it has changed their lives. Founded in 1998, the goal at Homes of Hope has been to rebuild lives by creating housing for those families without a safe place to call home. Through homeownership and affordable housing, Homes of Hope strives to help more than 50 families each year that otherwise would be either homeless or living in unhealthy conditions. “This outstanding generosity and commitment by Quinn Satterfield Inc. and all their vendors is unprecedented in Homes of Hope’s 10 year history. Thanks to them, a wonderful and deserving family became homeowners for the first time” said Homes of Hope President/CEO Don Oglesby.
Quinn Satterfield Inc. has proven their commitment to Homes of Hope over the last several years, believing firmly in the Homes of Hope mission. “After working with Homes of hope for the past three or four years, I’ve realized how far they’re able to make their money go because they’re frugal and creative, which comes as a result of having limited funds available. And because I think what they do is such a worthy cause, I felt that if we could help them to build working capital, their success in providing affordable housing would be greatly increase” said Rick Quinn, President of Quinn Satterfield
Since 1996. Quinn Satterfield Inc. has built hundreds of homes in the Upstate. Recently, they have become greatly involved in West Greenville’s revitalization efforts, partnering with Homes of Hope and the West Greenville Community, the partnership that received the Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award at the 2008 Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting.
When asked if they could build a free home, Quinn Satterfield Inc. actively responded, calling on their vendors to assist in the project. It is because of their donated time and materials that another deserving family has a brand new home.
